Penn Manor students are participating this week in “National Red Ribbon Week” to promote a healthy lifestyle, drug prevention and making positive choices — and have some fun.
Schools across the district are hosting spirit days, assemblies and other events to reinforce the message of staying healthy and drug-free. At Martic Elementary School Wednesday, students were encouraged to wear their pajamas and “put drugs to sleep.” The school also had a Smarties candy giveaway day (“smarties don’t do drugs”), boot day (“give drugs the boot”) and other special events. In the photo, Martic first-graders in Melissa Douts’ class show off their PJs.
Red Ribbon Week, sponsored by the National Family Partnership, runs through Friday.
