Seven students earn top-10 finishes at state TSA conference

Seven Penn Manor students placed in the top 10 in the state at the Pennsylvania Technology Student Association (TSA) State Conference, held April 17-20 in Seven Springs.

Suren Clark was named state champion, with a first-place finish, in the Prepared Presentation event, during which he gave a 5-minute presentation with a slide deck on the evolution of excellence in America.

He also placed second in the Future Technology & Engineering Teacher event and third in the Extemporaneous Presentation event on the topic of the biggest threat to the environment.

The Penn Manor team of Graham Cohick and Aman Shaik placed fifth in Coding, and Grant Rost and Cole Troop placed sixth in Video Production.

In addition, Penn Manor’s Jett Kroesen and Gage Myers placed seventh in Problem Solving.

Overall, Penn Manor High School had the most top-10 finishes in the state conference in more than a decade. Suren’s three top-3 finishes qualified him to compete in those events at the National TSA Conference this summer in Florida.

Congratulations to these students and their TSA advisor and technology education teacher, Dr. Molly Miller.
