Act 150 of 2015 requires ALL prospective employees, current employees, independent contractors and volunteers to get and renew criminal background checks (both Pennsylvania State Police as well as FBI) and child abuse clearances on a five-year cycle.  More information about the application process for these clearances is available here:

PAYROLL COORDINATOR

Penn Manor School District has an immediate opening for a Payroll Coordinator.

Full-time, Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 12 months, 260 days per year

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform complex payroll and administrative work requiring high degree of decision making related to the compliance of bi-weekly payroll and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Complete time sheet calculations for approximately 300 non-exempt, hourly employees, including overtime.
  • Ensure integrity of all payroll accounting transactions and guarantee that all employees are paid timely and accurately.
  • Responsible for verifying employees’ salary and wage records and providing prompt resolution of any discrepancies to ensure that all employees are properly compensated.
  • Process all salary verifications of employment as required.
  • Understand, interpret and administer contractual benefits as they relate to payroll issues.  Analyze, manage and complete time-sensitive assignments to accomplish the District’s payroll processing; troubleshoot employee/vendor inquiries regarding payroll-related matters.
  • Perform accurate data entry of a more difficult and responsible nature.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to record wages, taxes, deductions, adjustments and correction for various payroll activities.
  • Responsible for other miscellaneous wage and compensation actions as they pertain to the preparation and maintenance of payroll.
  • Act as liaison to District employees to ensure integrity of data and timeliness of payroll checks to be processed.
  • Perform complex calculations in relation to collective bargaining agreements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of three years of payroll experience.
  • Must have a high degree of initiative.
  • Strong understanding of the basic principles of accounting and payroll.
  • School District payroll experience preferred.
  • Munis software experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Google and Internet.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Food Service Manager

Penn Manor School District has an opening for a Cafeteria Manager at Marticville Middle School, effective 12/4/17.

Full-time, Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (180 days per year)

The starting hourly rate is $13.80/hour.  The Cafeteria Manager is responsible for providing support and oversight for all  food service related activities at the elementary school.  Primary  responsibilities include the following: organizing food preparation activities; overseeing and assisting cafeteria employees with food preparation and serving; confirm breakfast and lunch counts; provide written reports; prepare daily deposits; complete daily/weekly provision orders and yearly inventory of all food and supplies; supervise cafeteria employees  and comply with all mandated Federal/State/Local health requirements and HHFKA. Must have current Serv-Safe Certification.  High School diploma required.  A minimum of one-year food service experience is required.

District Food Service Cashier

Penn Manor School District has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Food Service Cashier at the High School.

Part-time, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m (180 days per year)

The starting hourly rate is $11.81/hour.  The District Food Service Cashier oversees the collection of monies from students for school lunches and accurately complete records and deposits.  Two (2) years experience in cashiering/bookkeeping in a commercial food service establishment, preferably in school lunch is preferred.  Must be willing and able to be bonded in an amount as determined by the District.  High school diploma or equivalent is required.

The starting hourly rate is $9.58/hour.  Responsibilities include:  preparing and serving food items to students, facility and staff as well as maintaining the facility in a safe and sanitary condition and complying with all mandated Federal/State/Local health requirement and HHFKA, setting up of the serving line, assembling proper serving utensils, serving food at correct temperatures, cleaning between serving periods, efficiently and in a positive attitude.

Enrollment Related Aides

Penn Manor School District has openings for part-time Enrollment Related Aide positions needed to assist in the classrooms and/or building.  Duties may include:  assisting the teacher with students who need independent work, supervise students, and maintain and monitor student behavior and discipline. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be cooperative and service-oriented.  All positions are for 2017-18 school year.

The starting hourly rate is $9.58/hour.  These positions are available Monday through Friday, effective immediately.  The hours are flexible, working up to 29 hours per week, or up to 5 hours per day.  They include Academic Support Aide at Central Manor Elementary, Ready to Learn Aide at Hambright Elementary, Grade 3 Classroom Aide at Letort Elementary, and Academic Support Aide at Conestoga Elementary.

Health Room Assistant (Hourly position – Part Time)

The Penn Manor School District is accepting applications for Health Room Assistants effective immediately.

Pequea Elementary School – Monday, Thursday & Friday – 6.5 hours per day, 19.5 hours per week

Hambright Elementary School – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday – 6.5 hours per day, 26 hours per week.

The pay rate is $12.91 – $16.13/hour with LPN certification; the pay rate is $15.90 – $19.87/hour with RN certification.

Interested applicants should be aware that, if hired, they would be responsible for obtaining and providing the necessary background checks and clearances as well as evidence of a physical and TB testing within the past 12 months.  LPN or RN License and current/recent working experience in the health care profession are preferred.

Under the supervision of the Certified School Nurse, this position requires the ability to effectively follow oral and written instructions, to work independently (when appropriate), to handle emergency situations and to adjust to changes in the educational environment.   Additionally, the Health Room Assistant must be able to communicate with employees at all levels and maintain a positive attitude with all employees, parents, students, and other individuals utilizing District buildings.  This position requires the ability to effectively utilize student information management systems, Microsoft Word, and other district programs to maintain student health information in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as the ability to apply the required skills within the scope of LPN/RN practice. A current CPR/First Aid training (valid card must be maintained on file at all times).

High school diploma or equivalent, Valid PA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Valid PA Licensed Registered Nurse (RN).  Recent nursing experience, within one year of application preferred.  Previous experience providing LPN services to students in a K-12 school environment is preferred.
