New! – The state of Pennsylvania has initiated a  vendor change in the FBI fingerprint process. The new vendor is IdentoGo. Please review the Clearance Instructions below before you attempt to obtain your FBI Fingerprints.

Act 150 of 2015 requires ALL prospective employees, current employees, independent contractors and volunteers to get and renew criminal background checks (both Pennsylvania State Police as well as FBI) and child abuse clearances on a five-year cycle.  More information about the application process for these clearances is available here:

Title I Assistant

The Penn Manor School District is accepting applications for a Title I Assistant for the 2018-19 school year, effective August 23, 2018

Hambright Elementary – Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., 5 hours per day, 181 days per year.

Under the supervision of the Principal, this position will provide support to students in reading including teaching and re-teaching skills, assessing progress, and reinforcing reading strategies.  Provide support to students in math, including teaching and re-teaching skills, assessing progress and reinforcing math strategies.

Follow lesson plans to instruct and reinforce present reading and math curricula and identify prerequisite foundational skills as needed; Utilize assessment tools including core phonics, CDT’s DIBELS, DRA, QRI, reading tests, math benchmarks, Study Island benchmarks, teacher observations, writings, and running records; Monitor and evaluate student progress in reading and math. Evaluate student strengths and needs including monitoring students’ reading comprehension, reinforcing skills and strategies to promote independent reading; and reinforcing skills and strategies to promote independence in math calculations and applications; Instruct and reinforce vocabulary to aid in understanding and develop background knowledge; Communicate with teachers concerning student progress and curriculum; Evaluate student progress and communicate with teachers and parents. Provide input on student progress for Instructional Support Team meetings and Multi-disciplinary Evaluations; Provide supplemental materials to support students and classroom teachers.

Custodian – VARIOUS OPPORTUNITIES

Penn Manor School District has an opening for a full-time Head Custodian at Marticville Middle School.

Full-Time, Monday – Friday, High School, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Duties include:  Responsible for opening the building, this includes turning off alarm, turning on lights, raising flag, inspecting the work of night custodians, and checking the boiler room; Supervise the performance of all day custodians, ensuring duties and responsibilities are being met; scheduling of custodial staff, hours and work duties, to be coordinated with the Director and the Building Principal; daily inspection of building and grounds maintenance requirements; In-service training for the building custodial staff on proper cleaning techniques and new products and procedures; and approve and initial all custodial time sheets; Prepare a schedule for custodians of upcoming events. Maintain and post an up-to-date duties list for all custodial staff positions in the building. File copies of this list with the Director; Prepare and organize a schedule for summer clean-up to ensure the building is ready for opening day; Receive, check-in, and distribute all books, teacher supplies, and school supplies. Deliver reports and information; Assemble and/or move furniture and equipment, prepare the building for daytime activities/events by setting up tables and chairs, and perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs as needed; Handle day-to-day emergencies and/or complaints requiring the attention of the custodial department. Respond to requests from the Director and/or Building Principal; Maintain an inventory of janitorial supplies and requisition cleaning supplies and equipment; Request assistance from the Maintenance Department and assist other support personnel, as needed; Assist outside contractors performing maintenance at the building; Have a working knowledge of the building security system; have on-call key holder responsibilities for security system alarms and other building emergencies; lock/unlock the building as required; perform monthly fire drills; Inspect building for vandalism, safety and security hazards. Report to the Building Principal and Director any vandalism, safety and security hazard; and report to the Building Principal evidence of student drug or alcohol abuse; Assist with snow removal and lawn maintenance.

Penn Manor School District has openings for custodians. Under the supervision of the Head Custodian, this position will be responsible for all aspects of custodial and minor maintenance repairs within the assigned school. Prior institutional custodial experience is preferred.  The primary duty is to provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment for the staff and students.

Part-Time, Monday – Friday, Central Manor Elementary, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. during school year

Full-Time, Monday – Friday, High School, 2:30 p.m. -11:00 p.m.

Duties include:  Ability to properly operate all custodial cleaning equipment, including the proper use of chemicals and solutions as appropriate to the particular equipment; Prior experience performing minor maintenance repairs.

High School diploma or equivalent required; Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form, Ability to maintain a professional relationship with supervisors, other staff, parents, students and the public; Ability to lift and/or carry supplies weighing up to 80 pounds. Occasionally, lifting, pulling, pushing up to 125 pounds with assistance.

A minimum of 1 year Custodial experience in a school district is preferred.

Health Room Assistant/Nurse, 2018-19 school year

The Penn Manor School District is accepting applications for Health Room Assistants/Health Room Nurse (HRN) to work at Penn Manor High School, effective with the beginning of the 2018-19 school year. The scheduled days are Monday, Thursday & Friday, 7 hours per day, 21 hours per week.  The shift at the High School is 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with a half hour break.  The pay rate is $13.14 – $16.42/hour with LPN certification; the pay rate is $16.19 – $20.23/hour with RN certification.

Interested applicants should be aware that, if hired, they would be responsible for obtaining and providing the necessary background checks and clearances as well as evidence of a physical and Tb testing within the past 12 months.  LPN or RN License and current/recent working experience in the health care profession are preferred.

Under the supervision of the Certified School Nurse, this position requires the ability to effectively follow oral and written instructions, to work independently (when appropriate), to handle emergency situations and to adjust to changes in the educational environment.   Additionally, the Health Room Nurse must be able to communicate with employees at all levels and maintain a positive attitude with all employees, parents, students, and other individuals utilizing District buildings.  This position requires the ability to effectively utilize student information management systems, Microsoft Word, and other district programs to maintain student health information in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as the ability to apply the required skills within the scope of LPN/RN practice. A current CPR/First Aid training (valid card must be maintained on file at all times).

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid PA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License

Valid PA Registered Nurse (RN) License

Recent nursing experience, within one year of application preferred.

Previous experience providing LPN services to students in a K-12 school environment is preferred.

Current CPR certification through a Department of Health approved certifying agency.

(STS) is now hiring Elementary/Secondary Personal Care Assistants and Paraprofessionals (Life Skills, Emotional Support, Learning Support), as well as Substitute Support Staff to assist and support  for the 2018-2019 school year.
