Act 150 of 2015 requires ALL prospective employees, current employees, independent contractors and volunteers to get and renew criminal background checks (both Pennsylvania State Police as well as FBI) and child abuse clearances on a five-year cycle.  More information about the application process for these clearances is available here:

Enrollment Related Aides

Penn Manor School District has openings for part-time Enrollment Related Aide positions needed to assist in the classrooms and/or building.  Duties may include:  assisting the teacher with students who need independent work, supervise students, and maintain and monitor student behavior and discipline. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be cooperative and service-oriented.  All positions are for 2017-18 school year.

The starting hourly rate is $9.58/hour.  These positions are available Monday through Friday throughout our ten school district buildings, effective August 24, 2017.  The hours are flexible, working up to 29 hours per week, or up to 5 hours per day.

Must have all required clearances:  Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Clearance, and Cogent FBI Fingerprints through the Department of Education.  Instructions for obtaining clearances are available on this website.

Technology Support Specialist

Penn Manor School District has an opening for a Technology Support Specialist.  As a building technology support specialist, staff and students will rely on you for friendly help and assistance. You will install, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software in a complex, multi-platform, mixed-vendor academic setting. We are not an ordinary school technology team. Serious applicants should review our guiding principles and technology values.

Penn Manor’s learning technology mix is 5% Mac, 70% Linux (Ubuntu) and 25% Windows. Automation is crucial to our work. We use tools like Open Source Puppet, GitLab, and Windows Deployment Services to help our small team manage a huge number of classroom devices.

Excellent customer service abilities, superior communication skills, and a self-driven work ethic are essential. A degree in a related field or 2-3 years broad technical experience in a mixed platform environment is required. This full-time position will support elementary and middle schools.

Dental Hygienist

Penn Manor School District, one of the largest school districts in Lancaster County, known for its academic excellence, with an enrollment of about 5,200 students, is looking for an experienced Part-Time Certified Dental Hygienist.

This position will be responsible to screen students’ general oral health, recommend future treatment and provide education on appropriate brushing/flossing techniques as well as providing dental hygiene and preventive care education to our students

This schedule will require flexible hours during the school year, as needed, up to 221 hours per year, with the ability to work within the District. The ideal candidate will have excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to multi-task.

Experience: One-two (1-2) years hygienist experience in a school setting, dental office or expanded practice setting Job.

Qualifications: Must be licensed by the State Dental Council and Examining board and be certified as a school dental hygienist by the Department of Education.

Title I Assistant

Penn Manor School District has multiple openings for part-time Title I Assistants to provide support to students in Reading and Math, including teaching and re-teaching skills, assessment progress, and reinforcing strategies.  Must have completed two years of study at institution of higher education; or Associate’s Degree, or higher. The starting hourly rate is $12.91/hour.  These positions are available Monday through Friday, effective August 24, 2017, five hours per day.

Health Room Assistant (Hourly position – Part Time)

The Penn Manor School District is accepting applications for Health Room Assistants for the 2017-18 school year, effective August 24, 2017.

Pequea Elementary School – Monday, Tuesday & Friday – 6.5 hours per day, 19.5 hours per week

Martic Elementary School – Monday, Tuesday & Thursday – 6.5 hours per day, 19.5 hours per week.

The pay rate is $12.91 – $16.13/hour with LPN certification; the pay rate is $15.90 – $19.87/hour with RN certification.

Interested applicants should be aware that, if hired, they would be responsible for obtaining and providing the necessary background checks and clearances as well as evidence of a physical and TB testing within the past 12 months.  LPN or RN License and current/recent working experience in the health care profession are preferred.

Under the supervision of the Certified School Nurse, this position requires the ability to effectively follow oral and written instructions, to work independently (when appropriate), to handle emergency situations and to adjust to changes in the educational environment.   Additionally, the Health Room Assistant must be able to communicate with employees at all levels and maintain a positive attitude with all employees, parents, students, and other individuals utilizing District buildings.  This position requires the ability to effectively utilize student information management systems, Microsoft Word, and other district programs to maintain student health information in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as the ability to apply the required skills within the scope of LPN/RN practice. A current CPR/First Aid training (valid card must be maintained on file at all times).

High school diploma or equivalent, Valid PA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Valid PA Licensed Registered Nurse (RN).  Recent nursing experience, within one year of application preferred.  Previous experience providing LPN services to students in a K-12 school environment is preferred.
