New! – The state of Pennsylvania has initiated a  vendor change in the FBI fingerprint process. The new vendor is IdentoGo. Please review the Clearance Instructions below before you attempt to obtain your FBI Fingerprints.

Act 150 of 2015 requires ALL prospective employees, current employees, independent contractors and volunteers to get and renew criminal background checks (both Pennsylvania State Police as well as FBI) and child abuse clearances on a five-year cycle.  More information about the application process for these clearances is available here:

Technology Support Specialist

The Penn Manor Technology Team is seeking a building technology support specialist. Staff and students will rely on you for friendly help and assistance. You will install, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software in a complex, multi-platform, mixed-vendor academic setting. Penn Manor’s learning technology mix is 5% Mac, 70% Linux and 25% Windows. Automation is crucial to our work. We use tools like Open Source Puppet, GitLab, and Windows Deployment Services to help our small team manage a huge number of classroom devices.

We are not an ordinary school technology team. Serious applicants should read our guiding principles and technology values and watch a short documentary about our unique open source programs.

Excellent customer service abilities, superior communication skills, and a self-driven work ethic are essential. A degree in a related field or 2-3 years broad technical experience in a mixed platform environment is required. This full-time position will support elementary and middle schools. Executive Administrative Secretary to the Human Resources Director

Penn Manor School District is seeking a full- time, 12-month, Executive Administrative Secretary to the Human Resources Director to join the Human Resources Team. This position provides administrative support to the Human Resources Director and two Assistant Superintendents within the Penn Manor School District Administrative Office.  The Executive Administrative Secretary will independently perform a variety of duties, of some complexity, in support of administrative, technical, professional staff and support staff with district-wide responsibilities.

Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday-7:30 am-4:00 pm, non-exempt, 260 days a year.  Minimum rate- $18.10 commensurate with experience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

  •  Performing HR clerical duties including but not limited to creating and distributing memos, letters, spreadsheets, maintaining accurate record-keeping, school board agenda items, purchase orders, and documents to regulatory agencies, and other correspondence using  Microsoft Office Suite. These duties regularly requires discretion, interpretation of policies, procedures or processes and frequent interaction with employees.
  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings and appointments for the department. Performs employment verifications.
  • Maintaining professional staff employee records including employee evaluations, tenure, instructional support plans and all documents pertaining to professional status which includes the preparation of semi-annual and annual evaluations of all professional employees.
  • Having a solid knowledge of all PDE requirements for professional staff as it relates to emergency certificates, Instructional I & II certificates and Act 48 in-service requirements
  • Maintaining records related to employee orientation documentation, differentiated supervision, and in-service requirements.
  • Creating and working with Frontline AESOP accounts and maintain attendance records of newly hired professional employees who attend New Teacher Induction program.
  • Maintaining communication with substitute teacher service when professional employees require substitutes for extended leaves.
  • Developing and place recruitment advertisements and openings in PA Educator, district website, print and other recruitment sources for professional openings.
  • Reading and analyzing incoming memos, mail, submissions, and reports in order to determine their significance and plan their distribution. Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming correspondence, including faxes and emails. Files and retrieves documents, records, and reports.
  • Preparing agendas and makes arrangements for interviews, and other required meetings.

 Qualifications:

  • 5 years of previous experience as an executive secretary is required. Prior experience in a public education setting and/or human resources environment is desirable.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PDE guidelines, prior experience in a school setting is preferred. Experience in working in areas requiring strict confidentiality.
  • Experience in providing excellent customer service, including sound communication (oral and writing) and detail management skills.
  •  Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with current office procedures and practices including business writing, proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, public relations, and telephone etiquette. Strong proofreading skills are required.
  • Proficiency using standard office software programs including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and the internet is required.
  • Prior experience in working with HR related leaves and related paperwork.
  • Internet research and experience in email programs is required.
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing is required.
  • Ability to take initiative and function independently is required.
  • Ability to function well under pressure and exercise sound judgment is required.
