Employee Clearance Instructions

Act 150 of 2015 requires ALL prospective employees, current employees, independent contractors and volunteers to get and renew criminal background checks (both Pennsylvania State Police as well as FBI) and child abuse clearances on a five-year cycle.  More information about the application process for these clearances is available here:

Playground Aide/Academic Support Aide

Penn Manor School District has an opening for part-time Playground Aide /Academic Support Aide needed to assist on the Playground and in the Building.  Duties may include:  monitoring the playground, assisting the teacher with students who need independent work, supervise students, and maintain and monitor student behavior and discipline.  Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be cooperative and service-oriented.

The starting hourly rate is $9.58/hour.  This position is available Monday through Friday, effective immediately.  The hours are 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., with a half hour break, for a total of 5 hours per day.

Must have all required clearances:  Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Clearance, and Cogent FBI Fingerprints through the Department of Education.  Instructions for obtaining clearances are available on this website.

Enrollment Related Aides

Penn Manor School District has openings for part-time Enrollment Related Aide positions needed to assist in the classrooms and/or building.  Duties may include:  assisting the teacher with students who need independent work, supervise students, and maintain and monitor student behavior and discipline. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be cooperative and service-oriented. All positions are for 2017-18 school year.

The starting hourly rate is $9.58/hour.  These positions are available Monday through Friday, effective immediately.  The hours are flexible, working up to 29 hours per week, or up to 5 hours per day.  They include Academic Support Aide at Central Manor Elementary, and Ready to Learn Aide at Hambright Elementary.

Penn Manor Employment Application

Health Room Assistant/Health Room Nurse (HRN)

The Penn Manor School District is accepting applications for Health Room Assistants/Health Room Nurse (HRN) to work either at Pequea Elementary School or Martic Elementary School. The scheduled days are Monday, Thursday & Friday for Pequea, 6.5 hours per day, 19.5 hours per week.  The scheduled days are Monday, Tuesday & Thursday for Martic, 6.5 hours per day, 19.5 hours per week.  The pay rate is $12.91 – $16.13/hour with LPN certification; the pay rate is $15.90 – $19.87/hour with RN certification.

Interested applicants should be aware that, if hired, they would be responsible for obtaining and providing the necessary background checks and clearances as well as evidence of a physical and Tb testing within the past 12 months.  LPN or RN License and current/recent working experience in the health care profession are preferred.

General Job Description – Health Room Nurse

Under the supervision of the Certified School Nurse, this position requires the ability to effectively follow oral and written instructions, to work independently (when appropriate), to handle emergency situations and to adjust to changes in the educational environment.   Additionally, the Health Room Nurse must be able to communicate with employees at all levels and maintain a positive attitude with all employees, parents, students, and other individuals utilizing District buildings.  This position requires the ability to effectively utilize student information management systems, Microsoft Word, and other district programs to maintain student health information in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as the ability to apply the required skills within the scope of LPN/RN practice. A current CPR/First Aid training (valid card must be maintained on file at all times).

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid PA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License

Valid PA Registered Nurse (RN) License

Recent nursing experience, within one year of application preferred.

Previous experience providing LPN services to students in a K-12 school environment is preferred.

Full-Time Maintenance-Generalist Position

Penn Manor School District is accepting applications for the following opening within the Maintenance & Custodial Department:Maintenance-Generalist Position

M-F; 6:00am-2:30pm

Hourly rate of pay: $17.78-$22.21, commensurate with experience

Summary:
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and buildings (pumps, alarms, sprinkler systems) while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Penn Manor School District’s policies and procedures.

Experience: Strong electrical experience. 2-5 years’ experience preferred. Proven experience with Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Carpentry. Should have a strong knowledge of various alternative and efficient methods of diagnosing and correcting problems. Computer skills are required and above average communication skills are necessary.

Other Requirements: Responsible for working with others within the maintenance and custodial department and outside vendors. Must be able to assist with troubleshooting and repairing equipment. Must be able to conduct preventive maintenance as well as equipment trouble shooting. High level of analytical ability to find solutions to difficult technical problems.  Prior experience with a web based work order system is preferred.
