Spring Fling May 8 at Comet Field

Penn Manor student organizations are gearing up for this year’s Spring Fling carnival, to be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Comet Field.

The annual event, which was first held nearly 20 years ago, helps raise funds and awareness for Penn Manor School District student organizations and charitable groups. More than 160 Penn Manor High School students organize and run the event.

Spring Fling 2015 will include carnival rides, fireworks, “bouncy” boxing castles and sumo wrestling rings and some unusual games, including “Comet pong,” watermelon smashing, treasure hunts and golf putting contests.

An array of foods will be available, from soda floats, cotton candy and dirt pudding to walking tacos, burgers, mac-and-cheese and barbecue.

Admission is free, but parking is by donation.  Parking proceeds will benefit the Penn Manor Family Fund.
