Central Manor 5th & 6th Grades Collect for “Feed Uncle Sam”

Representatives of Central Manor’s 5th and 6th grade students presented Mac Adams from the Millersville VFW with a check for $1,039.67. The  students had staged a “Feed Uncle Sam” day on May 25th and donated their change towards the cause. After presenting the check, the students, along with some area veterans and current military members, participated in “Sweat for Vets.” The students, dressed in red, white and blue, walked or ran around the recess field. After each lap, the students stopped to sign inspirational cards that will be sent to military currently serving overseas. Patriotic music and decorations along with everyone reciting the Pledge of Allegiance rounded out the Memorial Day celebration. Central Manor’s 5th and 6th grade classes are being housed in the cottages at Manor MS this year as their school is currently being renovated.
