Emergency Information

Penn Manor emergency information and updates are posted to the district website, Twitter page, LNP and local television stations. The district also uses the Sapphire Community Portal for rapid email and phone communications, including schedule changes and school closings. We encourage parents and guardians to confirm the phone and email contact information in Sapphire is accurate.

Penn Manor also operates an emergency information hotline to report the status of our schools at (717) 872-9500 ext. 2333

Early dismissals: High school and middle school students will generally be dismissed first, followed by elementary students. Parents are urged to make arrangements with a neighbor or relative to receive their child/children if school is dismissed when they are not at home.

Two-hour delays with modified kindergarten: All school-related functions, including transportation, will begin exactly two hours later than normal.

Modified kindergarten schedule: Morning kindergarten will start at 11 a.m. and run until 12:45 p.m. Afternoon kindergarten will run from 1:45 p.m. until the regular dismissal time.

When inclement weather conditions develop during the day, resulting in an early closing, parents will be notified via automated phone call. Phone calls will NOT be made for closings/delays announced before the school day begins.

Snow days: Penn Manor plans to use snow days built into the school calendar before using flexible instructional days (also known as “cyber snow days”) when school buildings are closed due to inclement weather. Instruction will occur remotely during a flexible instructional day.
