Manor FFA is celebrating a historic showing of skill and preparation during their time at the Pennsylvania FFA State Convention and Activities Week, which was hosted at Penn State University from June 9 through 11.
Five of the chapter’s Career Development Event (CDE) teams earned State Reserve Champion titles, securing coveted spots to advance to regional and national stages this fall. The advancing teams will travel to West Springfield, Massachusetts this September to compete in The Big E.
The chapter achieved the elite designation of a Pennsylvania Supreme Chapter and secured a Gold Ranking for its official chapter scrapbook. This Gold Ranking positions Manor FFA to submit its credentials for national evaluation.
Manor FFA was designated a Pennsylvania Supreme Chapter and was recognized on the state stage for overall organizational excellence, community engagement, and member development.
The Veterinary Science team of Amelia Fetter, Jayden Buck, Grace Garret, and Lorelei Smith were State Reserve Champions. Amelia was awarded third place, followed by Jayden in fourth, and Grace in 10th.
The Ag Technology & Mechanical Systems team of Weston Shertzer, Colby Martin, Chase Perry, John Wise, and Tage Rohrer were named State Reserve Champions. Weston was the second place individual and Colby was sixth.
Also named a State Reserve Champion was the Poultry Evaluation team of Regan Herr, Maggie Herr, Nancy Railing, Ruthie Miller, and Gideon Stewart. Regan earned fourth place, followed by Maggie in fifth, Nancy in 10th, Ruthie in 10th, and Gideon in 12th.
The Floriculture team of Jozie Gilger, Ashlyn Brenneman, Misty Railing, Anna Frey, and Leanne Kneisley were also named State Reserve Champions. Jozie was awarded first place and is a State Champion, followed by Ashlyn in second, and Misty in fifth.
The Livestock Evaluation team of Katie Charles, Gracie Shaiebly, Elsie Shaiebly, Sam Deamer, and Maybelle Rineer were State Reserve Champions. Katie was the sixth place individual and Gracie earned 12th place.
The Nursery and Landscape team finished in fifth place and consisted of Abby Harnish, Sara Gehr, Nate Frey, Emily Railing, and Emily Burkhart. Additionally, the Horse Evaluation team of Jillian Severt, Haley Hunsberger, Emma Jayne, and Alli Leschke finished in sixth place.
KK Welch and Lathan Axe were Chapter Delegates, casting vital votes and steering policy to represent the voice of Manor FFA at the state level.
Six Manor FFA members were celebrated on stage by receiving a State Proficiency Award for their mastery in their Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs). The following members were State Winners: Emily Railing (Diversified Agriculture), Emily Burkhart (Small Animal Production & Care), Sara Gehr (Specialty Crop Production – Placement), Weston Shertzer (Dairy Production – Placement), and Ryan Brenneman (Vegetable Production). Nate Frey was a State Finalist (Agricultural Mechanics Repair & Maintenance – Placement).
