Five Penn Manor seniors will address the audience when the Penn Manor High School Class of 2026 holds their commencement ceremony on Wednesday, June 3, at Franklin & Marshall College.
The ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. at F&M’s Alumni Sports and Fitness Center. F&M personnel will help direct vehicles to parking on site.
The ceremony will be livestreamed on the Penn Manor YouTube channel.
This year’s speakers are valedictorian Diana Idrees, salutatorian Maryam Alfayyadh, and class president IzEldeen Salem. Sarah Souhrada will welcome students and attendees to the ceremony and Seth Gansner will deliver the student farewell. Below are some of their comments about their four years at Penn Manor.
Diana is the daughter of Dina Jirjees and Bassam Jabri. She will attend Millersville University in the fall and will be majoring in biochemistry.
“Something that I will remember from my time at Penn Manor is when my AP teachers took time out of their days to help prepare us for the exams. Whether we stayed after school or showed up on the weekends, they were always happy to be there and help us out.”
Maryam is the daughter of Hamsa Alsulttani and Maher Alfayyadh. This fall, Maryam will attend Penn State University where she plans to study biomedical engineering. She then plans to attend medical school.
“My favorite memory at Penn Manor were watching the homecoming court do their skits during the pep rallies.”
IzEldeen is the son of Karen and Tawfik Salem. He will attend Washington University in St. Louis to pursue biomedical engineering on a pre-med track while continuing leadership, service, and research opportunities with the goal of becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon.
“My favorite memory while at Penn Manor was running out during the homecoming skits in a complete Gru outfit and going out and finding Vector in the crowd and stealing the moon back.”
Sarah is the daughter of Michael and Rebecca Souhrada. In the fall, Sarah will attend Louisiana State University majoring in animal science on the pre-veterinary track.
“My time spent in our agriculture department and Manor FFA will be the memories I look back on the most. Whether I was working with the Manor FFA officer team, or in animal and vet science classes, I enjoyed every minute I had with the members and advisors of Manor FFA,” said Sarah. “Mr. Fellenbaum and Ms. Gagne´ were instrumental in my growth throughout high school, and I cannot thank them enough for supporting me as I make the transition to college.”
Seth will deliver the student farewell!
Each graduate received eight tickets for family and friends to attend commencement. Please read this communication to parents from high school principal Doug Eby for important details about the ceremony.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early because of the large number of individuals attending the event. We ask that no balloons be brought into the building so that all attendees can clearly see the stage.
We look forward to honoring the Class of 2026!
