For the second year in a row, Penn Manor High School Quiz Bowl team qualified to compete at the High School National Championship Tournament (HSNCT). The team members consisted of Natalie Aungst, Liam Dever, Seth Gansner (team captain), and Eliza Myer.
From May 22 through 24, the team was in Atlanta, Georgia competing against the best teams in the country.
At the tournament, each team plays 10 opponents. In the first round, opponents are randomly selected, but as the tournament progresses, teams face opponents with similar records. A team needs to win six matches to advance to the elite playoff championship bracket.
The team ended the season with a 5-5 record, missing the playoff bracket by the closest of margins. One of their losses ended in a tie, with Penn Manor losing by a single question in overtime.
The Lancaster-Lebanon Quiz Bowl league is competitive and this year there were a record five schools competing at Nationals.
