Marticville Middle School students recently had the exciting opportunity to visit Franklin & Marshall College, gaining a firsthand look at college life and sparking conversations about future goals and careers.
Led by school counselor Danielle Rogers, students toured the campus, visited classrooms and a residence hall, and enjoyed lunch in the college dining hall—an experience that gave them a true taste of campus life.
A highlight of the trip was meeting the F&M wrestling coach and Division I athletes, who shared what it takes to compete at the college level—both academically and athletically. Students learned about the dedication, time management, and teamwork needed to succeed in college and beyond.
“This trip helps our students see what’s possible,” said Mrs. Rogers. “When middle schoolers can walk through a college classroom, it makes the idea of higher education real and attainable. It also helps them start thinking about how their current interests can grow into future career paths.”
The visit is part of Marticville’s career and college readiness initiative, which encourages students to explore their strengths and interests early on and start planning for their futures.
