Penn Manor students qualify for All-State Choir honors

Five talented Penn Manor High School students have been named to the All-State Choir after participating in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Region V Choral Festival over the weekend.

The event, which included auditions, was held March 20 to 21.

Following his audition, Jordan Chen (piano) was ranked first in the state, qualifying him for All-State honors as a piano accompanist.

Bailey Floyd (alto 1) was ranked fifth, Ava Wolfersberger (alto 2) was ranked third, David Ferre (tenor 1) was ranked second, and Matthew Palmeri (bass 1) was ranked second. The top six in each singing part qualified for States.

In addition, James Helm (bass 2) was ranked seventh, making him a first alternate for All-States, and David Ferre was awarded a solo in the Region V Festival concert following a separate audition.

The five students making States may be the most Penn Manor has ever sent to All-States for one festival, said Penn Manor choral director Lauren Ciemiewicz. Penn Manor will be one of the highest-represented schools from Region V at All-State Chorus this year.

The region includes public and private schools in Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin, York, Perry, Cumberland, Adams, Franklin, Berks, Lehigh, Schuylkill, Carbon, Northampton, Monroe, and Pike Counties.

The five All-State students will represent Penn Manor at the All-State Festival April 9 through 12 at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos. The culminating concert will be held April 12.

Congratulations to these students and Mrs. Ciemiewicz for these honors!
