14 Penn Manor HS students earn Scholastic and Young Artists awards

The artwork of 14 talented Penn Manor High School students is on display in downtown Lancaster as part of the Scholastic Art Awards and the Lancaster County Young Artists (LCYA) Awards exhibitions.

Several students earned multiple awards; in all, 26 pieces of their artwork, including photographs, paintings, fibers, graphic design and mixed-media pieces, were honored. 

You can view the students’ work through April 27 at the Lancaster Museum of Art, 135 N. Lime St., Lancaster 17603.

Piper Campbell earned three LCYA awards and two Scholastic awards, including one gold, in photography.

Savannah Ritter received two LCYA awards and two Scholastics, including one gold, in photography.

Both Piper and Savannah now move on to the national Scholastics competition.

Makenzy Spurgeon earned two LCYA awards and one Scholastic gold, in photography.

Adessa Bradley earned three LCYA awards, including one gold, in fibers, mixed media and painting.

She also won the PA Guild of Craftsmen Award, which includes a $120 gift car, student membership and a mentorship with a local artist.

Both Makenzy and Adessa now move on to the national Scholastics competition.

Ky Garriga earned two LCYA awards in mixed media and painting.

Cheyenne Spidle received one LCYA award and one Scholastic award in photography.

Emily Shirley earned an LCYA award in graphic arts and design for creating her own children’s book.

V Gadsby earned an LCYA award in painting.

Olivia Haldeman received a Scholastic silver for her photography portfolio.

Each of these students earned an LCYA award in photography: Joseph Ward, Mae Ressler, Anna NonnemacherEmma Dawkins, and Julie Thens (Gold Award).
