Kara Eshleman joins HS staff as acting dean of students

Kara Eshleman, a former teacher at Pequea Elementary School, has been named acting dean of students at Penn Manor High School.

“I am a proud Penn Manor alumna and parent,” Mrs. Eshleman said. “I’ve dedicated 10 years to teaching special education and general education students at the elementary level, and I am excited for the opportunity to work alongside the team of teachers and administrators at Penn Manor High School.”

Kara joined the Penn Manor staff in 2014 as a learning support teacher at Letort Elementary School. In 2016, she began teaching third grade at Pequea Elementary School.

She received her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Delaware in 2014 and her master’s in middle level education from Wilkes University in 2018. She is enrolled in the principal certification program at Penn State University.

“I am excited for Kara to have this opportunity to serve the high school as dean of students for the remainder of the year,” said Dr. Phil Gale, Penn Manor superintendent. “She has demonstrated an ability to lead and develop strong relationships with students and her peers. This will be a learning opportunity for Kara as she continues her pursuit of a leadership position.”

Kara lives in the district with her husband Eric, a Penn Manor High School math teacher, and their two children, Cassidy and Cooper.

Congratulations to Mrs. Eshleman on her appointment!
