Detter, Telesco named assistant principals at Manor MS, high school

The Penn Manor School Board has approved the appointments of Patty Detter as assistant principal at Manor Middle School and Chris Telesco as assistant principal at Penn Manor High School.

Detter will work with Dr. Shirley Murray, who took over as Manor principal upon the retirement of Dr. Dana Edwards at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Telesco replaces Kim Marsh as one of four assistant principals at the high school. Marsh left to serve as principal at Pequea Elementary School July 1.

Chris has worked as an English teacher at Manor Middle School since 2006 and served as Penn Manor High School’s boys’ volleyball coach.

He received his bachelor’s degree in English/Communications in 2002 from St. Francis University and his master’s in educational leadership from Millersville University in 2022.

“I will miss the Manor Middle family greatly – my family for the last seventeen years – but I am excited to be part of the high-school team that allows Penn Manor faculty, staff, and students to be the best they can be,” Telesco said. “It’s a great day to be a Comet!”

Detter served as interim Dean of Students at Hambright Elementary School during the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year, after working as a first- and second-grade teacher at Eshleman Elementary since 2006.

Patty received her bachelor’s degree in education in 2000 and her master’s in language and literacy, with an ESL concentration, in 2009, both from Millersville University. She is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership from Immaculata University.

“I am thankful and excited for the opportunity to continue working with Penn Manor School District in my new role as assistant principal of Manor Middle School,” she said. “I look forward to collaborating with Manor Middle’s students, teachers, and community.”

We congratulate these longtime Penn Manor staff members for taking on these new leadership roles in the district.
