Nine Penn Manor High School students have been selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association’s Region V Chorus Festival next month.
The students are Bailey Floyd (alto 1), Ava Wolfersberger (alto 2), David Ferre (tenor 1), James Helm (bass 2), Cameron Thorne and Andrew Lebo (tenor 2), and Kaleb Kabakjian, Christian Lapp, and Matthew Palmeri (bass 1)
They qualified for Regionals after auditioning during the PMEA District 7 Chorus Festival, held January 26 and 27 at Lebanon Valley College. During the auditions, David Ferre placed second overall of all participants in his voice part.
Penn Manor had 15 students participating in the District 7 festival – the highest number of any high school. Students from Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties took part.
The Region V Chorus Festival will be held March 8 and 9 at Messiah University and will include the qualifiers from Districts 7 and 10 combined, covering 16 counties.
Congratulations to these students and their teacher and choral director, Lauren Ciemiewicz.
