Hector Rodriguez and Jireh Ellis named King & Queen at homecoming

Congratulations to Penn Manor’s 2023 Homecoming King and Queen, Hector Rodriguez and Jireh Ellis, who were crowned at halftime of the thrilling September 29 homecoming game.

The Comets came from behind to beat Hempfield High School, 23-19 for Penn Manor’s first victory over its crosstown rivals since 2014. The Comets earned the win thanks to a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and an 80-yard run late in the game, both by Adrian Smith.

Other members of this year’s Homecoming Court were Ava Aslanidis, Olivia Clark, Lauren Daigle, Grace Gerner, Carolyn Hinkle, Anouk Landgraff Ciana Suydam, Jeremy Andro, Ethan Benne, Gavin Egan, Alexxander Eme, Ben Erb, Tyler Keller, and Dhamir Wesley.

These students raised $7,843 along with 5 boxes of donated canned goods for the Loft Community Partnership, which provides clothing, food and household supplies to Penn Manor families in need.

Many thanks to all who helped make the year’s homecoming such a success!
