Penn Manor to host Community Resources Fair March 29

Penn Manor School District will host a Community Resources Fair March 29 to help Penn Manor families connect with resources that can help them thrive.

The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Penn Manor High School cafeteria.

Parents will be able to visit different booths for information about child care, finances, assistance with housing and utilities, mental health resources, extracurricular activities and educational resources.

Participating groups and organizations will include several area churches, Union Community Health Center, Community Action Partnership, Spanish American Civic Association, the YWCA, Career Link, and several others.

In addition, Penn Manor school psychologists will be presenting two workshops in the high school Large Group Instruction room on executive functioning skills, which help students to focus, plan, prioritize and work toward goals, regulate behaviors and emotions and adapt to new situations.

The 4:30 p.m. session is designed for elementary parents, and a 5:30 session targets secondary parents.

Registration is not required for this free event. Drinks and light refreshments will be provided, and child care will be available in the auxiliary gym, staffed by members of the high school National Honor Society.

The goal of the event is to help families – especially those new to Penn Manor – connect with resources outside of what is offered in our schools.

We look forward to seeing you at this event!
