Happy holidays from Penn Manor School District

As we approach winter break, we’d like to wish all Penn Manor students, staff, families and community members a very happy holiday season and a relaxing break. Penn Manor schools will be closed from December 26 through January 2, 2023. Classes will resume on January 3.

Below is a holiday message from Penn Manor superintendent Dr. Phil Gale:

Throughout December, holiday activities have been under way in all of our schools, as teachers, staff, and volunteers have been busy providing opportunities for students to:

  • Attend Winter Wonderland events with their families to enjoy holiday activities
  • Shop for the holiday at Secret Santa and Holiday Marketplace events
  • Supply Santa’s Workshops with gifts
  • Share the joy of music through their musical talents during holiday showcases, local performances, and concerts
  • Participate in holiday-themed house meetings and winter festivals
  • Kick off the winter sports seasons at holiday tournaments

A special atmosphere of celebration and joy is all around, and all are drawn to the warmth and care displayed. These efforts have helped create an extraordinary community where students, faculty, staff, and community members are connected.

This sense of excitement and joy is being shared with the larger Penn Manor community, as students and staff have been busy volunteering their time and collecting items to benefit others.

In recent days, nearly 100 members and coaches of Penn Manor athletic teams, along with National Honor Society members, have volunteered at the Toys for Tots distribution center. At our schools, coins, mittens, socks, clothes, toiletries and canned goods have been collected to benefit families in need. The shelves of local food pantries have been restocked. Last week, gifts and essential supplies were distributed to 130 families at the Hope Campus of Millersville Community Church. Family members were able to select age-appropriate toys, clothing, and other gifts for their children at no cost. They also received books, gently used toys, socks, and a toiletry bag.

These efforts are only possible in an extraordinary place where students, teachers, staff, and community members are connected. That place is Penn Manor. In addition to fostering an enthusiasm for learning, academic excellence, and personal growth, Penn Manor students, teachers, and community members do so much more.

Please keep that in mind as we celebrate this holiday season. This time of year brings joy and celebration, as well as an opportunity to applaud all of our successes.

From all of us at Penn Manor, we wish you a joyous and peaceful holiday season and a Happy New Year!
