The Manor FFA Poultry Evaluation Team had a strong showing at the Eastern States Exposition on September 17 in West Springfield, MA.
The team of Layne Perry, Derek Thomas, Brenna Moon, and Kendall Hoenwater – all Penn Manor High School students – placed third overall out of eight teams. Individually, Derek placed 2nd, Layne placed 6th, Brenna placed 10th, and Kendall placed 11th.
The Penn Manor students were competing in the poultry career development event in contests that evaluate skills in specific areas of the poultry industry. They competed against teams from Kentucky, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, Connecticut, New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
The Manor FFA team qualified for Eastern States by placing second in the state competition.
Congratulations to these four students!
