Seven Penn Manor students have been selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association’s Region V Chorus Festival in March.
Elizabeth Lebo (soprano 2), Paige Wall, Emily Witmer and Grace Fafel (alto 1); Kaleb Kabakjian (bass 1); and Nicole Chen (piano accompanist) all qualified to participate in the regional festival, to be held March 25. Max Ponton also qualified as a bass 2, but is unable to attend.
Penn Manor’s alto 1 singers placed 3rd, 4th and 5th overall among all participants at the District 7 Chorus Festival, held February 11 and 12 at Chambersburg Area High School.
During that festival, the students auditioned for Regional Chorus, along with students from public and private schools in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York Counties.
This is the largest number of Penn Manor students to qualify for regional chorus in more than a decade.
Congratulations to these students and their choral director, Lauren Ciemiewicz.
