Penn Manor High School’s Graham Thomas has been named recipient of the prestigious A. Landis Brackbill Scholar-Athlete Award, given annually to the top male and female student athletes in the Lancaster-Lebanon League.
While competing in cross country this year, Graham won every dual meet, the Lancaster-Lebanon League Championship and the District 3 Championship, and finished third in the PIAA Triple A State Championship.
He also was named First Team All-State.
In track, Graham won both the 1,600- and 3,200-meter events at the L-L League championship meet this month and is preparing for postseason meets.
He plans to continue his running career at Temple University next year.
Graham was nominated for the Brackbill Award, along with Penn Manor’s Jordan Schucker. Nominees must have a 3.5 or higher unweighted grade-point average and letter and excel in two or more sports during their senior year.
The award is named after A. Landis Brackbill, a Penn Manor high school principal from 1944 to 1968 who was the first executive director of the L-L League.
Winners are selected by a committee set up by the league and receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Manheim Touchdown Club.
Congrats to Graham on this well-deserved honor!
