Penn Manor parents being notified of need for immunizations

The school district this week is notifying parents of Penn Manor students whose immunization records are incomplete. If you receive a call, you need to take action now so your child/children’s education is not interrupted as a result of stricter immunization requirements from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Below is the text of the call that is going out Thursday, August 17.

This is Mike Leichliter, Superintendent of the Penn Manor School District. Today is Thursday, August 17, 2017.  Recently, the Pennsylvania Department of Health made changes to immunization requirements for children who attend public schools. 

You are receiving this telephone call because, as of today, Penn Manor School District’s records indicate that your child is not in compliance with state immunization requirements. It is important that you provide documentation of your child’s updated immunization records, or documentation from a physician’s office of a scheduled appointment for these immunizations, for compliance. 

Please provide this documentation by the first day of school, Thursday, August 24. If documentation is not provided by August 30, Penn Manor School district will be forced to exclude your child from school until documentation is provided.
