Penn Manor teams win an unprecedented four section titles

It’s a great season to be a Comet – especially now that Penn Manor’s spring sports teams have won an unprecedented four Lancaster-Lebanon League Section One titles!

Last night, the Penn Manor High School boys’ volleyball team beat Cedar Crest, 3-0, to clinch the volleyball crown with an 12-2 record. That followed victories earlier in the week by Penn Manor’s baseball (14-6 record) and softball (18-1) teams at Hempfield to secure those titles. The boys’ track and field team had earlier completed an undefeated 6-0 season – its first since 1967(!) – to earn its title.

That’s four titles for four different sports at one school in the same season. According to Penn Manor athletic director Jeff Roth, that may be a first in the history of the L-L League.

“What an outstanding spring season for our Comet athletic teams,” said Roth. “It’s the spring of the Comets!”

The volleyball, baseball and softball teams will continue to compete in the playoffs, and the track and field team is headed for the L-L League meet this weekend.

Congratulations to the Penn Manor student athletes, coaches, parents and supportive community members who helped make this possible!
