Six PMHS students qualify for County Chorus

Congratulations to the six talented Penn Manor High School students who qualified for County Chorus.

They are Lauren Elledge (soprano 1), Veronica Cazillo (alto 1), Claudia Heitland (alto 2), Caitlin Moser (alto 2), Katherina Vanatta (alto 2) and Martin Zavadan (tenor 2).

The students qualified following an audition Saturday at McCaskey High School. They had to learn two collegiate-level choral pieces — one was accompanied and in English and the other was unaccompanied and in Latin. They had to perform the pieces in a blind audition where they were ranked based on their overall score. The judges were choral directors from Lancaster-Lebanon County High Schools.

Five of the Penn Manor students will sing at the Lancaster-Lebanon Music Educators’ Jan. 7 County Chorus Festival at Lampeter-Strasburg High School. Lauren is unable to perform that day.

Way to represent Penn Manor!
