Penn Manor school board Monday honored Katey Bleacher for earning the Keystone Star in Agricultural Placement as a member of Manor FFA.
The statewide award is given to an FFA Keystone Degree recipient who exhibits premier leadership, personal growth and career success as demonstrated through an application and an interview with a panel of judges.
Katey qualified in the agricultural placement category because her supervised agricultural experience program is work-based. She works for Bleacher Farms LLC, a layer hen farm that has been in her family for generations.
The Penn Manor High School senior received a commendation from school board member Joe Fullerton at Monday’s board meeting.
