PMHS students win business awards

Two teams of Penn Manor students qualified for state competition, and two other teams and one individual student won awards in recent Future Business Leaders of America competitive events.

The team of Cameron Steele and Jordan Wakefield placed first in entrepreneurship, and the team of Ryan Miller, Joey Cadmus and Jeremy Miller placed first in marketing. Both teams now will participate in the state FBLA competition, to be held in Hershey in April.

The Penn Manor team of Jared Byrne and Allyssa Turner placed second in management decision making, and the team of Brian Markley and Jeremy Miller placed third in sports and entertainment marketing. In addition, Ryan Atkinson placed fourth in accounting.

The students competed against their peers at eight other schools in Region 18 of the Future Business Leaders of America.

“I am extremely proud of their accomplishments,” said FBLA adviser and Penn Manor business teacher Christa Craig.

The students received their awards at the FBLA Region 18 Leadership Conference on Dec. 14 at Millersville University. Penn Manor English teacher Dr. Gregg McGough was conference keynote speaker on the topic of “Digital Mentors: 1Skill Podcasts.”

Congratulations, students, and best wishes on future competitions!
