Eric Howe

Howe appointed Hambright ES principal

Eric Howe, a longtime Penn Manor teacher and administrator, has been named principal of Hambright Elementary School, effective July 1.

Currently an assistant principal at Penn Manor High School, Howe will replace Jerry Egan, who is leaving Hambright to become Penn Manor’s assistant superintendent for elementary education.

Howe began teaching social studies at Penn Manor High School in 2002 after serving four years in the U.S. Marine Corps and attaining the rank of sergeant. In 2007, he was named coordinator of Penn Manor’s social studies department. The following year, he became an assistant principal at the high school, where he currently oversees the junior class.

Howe also is an administrator with the Twilight School, Penn Manor’s alternative-education program.

He earned a master’s degree in teaching and curriculum from Penn State University and has a principal’s certification from Alvernia University. Howe also earned a social studies teaching degree from Millersville University.

Howe said he is “truly honored” to have the opportunity to work with the Hambright staff, students and community members.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the Hambright family,” he said. “I have been with Penn Manor School District for the past 13 years, and I am excited to be able to serve the district in this new position.”

Eric and his wife, Adrienne, live in Manheim Township with their two children, Alexis and Eric Jr.
