School board approves redistricting plan

Penn Manor school board has unanimously approved a redistricting plan to take effect in the 2014-15 school year.

Under the plan, some students at Hambright, Eshleman and Pequea elementary schools will attend different schools, and attendance areas for some district middle school students will change. About 60 current students will be affected by the changes.

The revisions are being driven by changing student enrollment numbers, inequitable student distribution and class sizes in some schools and the construction and relocation of Hambright Elementary School to the Manor Middle School campus.

Families whose students will be affected by the redistricting have been notified by mail and will receive additional information from the superintendent in the coming months.
