Central Manor fifth-grader wins statewide ‘There Ought to Be a Law’ contest

Incoming Central Manor Elementary School fifth-grader Paige Flinchbaugh won the “There Ought to Be a Law” Contest recently with an essay recommending a new law requiring schools to provide at least 30 minutes of physical education twice a week for all students. Paige wrote the essay as a fourth-grader in Heather Piatt’s Class after learning about the issue of childhood obesity. She spent Tuesday at the Capitol, where she had had a formal interview with state Rep. Ryan Aument, who sponsored the contest. You can see the video of her interview here:
