Fifth Grade Students Learn About Colonial Pennsylvania

Mrs. Braun’s fifth grade class at Eshleman Elementary School participated in stations about Colonial Pennsylvania farm life.  Students wrote with feather pens in their own Horn Book, learned the art of German paper cutting, made colonial toys such as spinning tops and Jacob’s Ladders, worked with flint and metal, and carded wool to make yarn.  The presentation was facilitated by the Landis Valley Farm Museum and is part of the fifth grade social studies unit on the thirteen colonies.
