Red Ribbon Week at Manor MS

The Manor Peer Helpers at Manor Middle School wanted to alert their friends and classmates to the dangers of drugs during Red Ribbon Week. The Peer Helpers turned one of the cottages at Manor Middle School into a walk through interactive display. Students toured the “Make the Right Choice House” which showed the horrors of drug use and also the opportunities available to students who choose a healthy lifestyle. Each student was given an opportunity to sign a “No Use” pledge. Students and staff word red on Friday and attended an awareness assembly with a speaker from the RASE project.

Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country.  This year Red Ribbon Week was held from October 22-30, 2011. Red Ribbon Week encourages a commitment to drug prevention and education and a personal commitment to live drug free lives with the ultimate goal being the creation of drug free America.
