The Penn Manor Girls’ Field Hockey Team will hold a Pink Game to promote breast cancer awareness on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11:00 am when they face Crestwood High School at Comet Field. Last year was the first year that Penn Manor played a Pink Game and they raised $4,550 (see photo) for the American Cancer Society. This year, the Lancaster-Lebanon League is encouraging all field hockey teams to make their first home game in October a Pink Game.
Penn Manor field hockey players are currently selling Memory Balloons to honor those touched by cancer. Balloons will also be available for purchase at the game. Special Pink Game t-shirts are being sold by Penn Manor field hockey players and a limited number will be available to purchase at the game. In addition, 100% of all concession proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
The Penn Manor School District will hold a dress down day on Friday, September 30 where staff can pay $5.00 to wear casual clothing and are encouraged to wear pink. All proceeds go to the Pink Game.
