Dear Elementary Parents:
We want to share some information regarding proposed changes in school transportation for the 2011-2012 school year. The district plans to eliminate mid-day kindergarten transportation for next year in order to save approximately $180,000.
The vast majority of school districts in Lancaster County do not provide mid-day transportation. We would still pick up morning kindergarten students as well as drop off afternoon kindergarten students.
As you may know, public schools are facing unprecedented financial challenges due to decreasing revenue to fund our school programs. The administration has proposed a number of program reductions for next school year such as this one, totaling approximately $1.6 million.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Superintendent’s Office at 872-9500, ext. 2223.
