Eight Penn Manor athletic teams win LL League Sportsmanship award.

Sportsmanship Award presented to eight athletic teams

Eight Penn Manor athletic teams were presented with the Lancaster-Lebanon League Richard Balderston Sportsmanship Award for the 2024-2025 school year.

The award was presented to eight teams: girls’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ volleyball, boys’ lacrosse, boys’ soccer, boys’ tennis, softball, and track and field.

The Lancaster-Lebanon League Richard Balderston Sportsmanship Award was created in the 1999-2000 school year to recognize the member school(s) that exemplify the quality of sportsmanship throughout each sport season and throughout the school year.

Mr. Balderston was a long time Executive Director of the Lancaster-Lebanon League, and before that Athletic Director at Lampeter-Strasburg.

The LL League presents a sportsmanship award for each athletic season–fall, winter, and spring. Penn Manor was the recipient for the spring sportsmanship award which made them eligible for the year long award. Athletic Directors from the LL League selected Penn Manor as the overall winner for the school year.

On Monday, June 23, the LL League Sportsmanship Award was presented at the school board meeting by Athletic Director, Pat Tocci, student-athletes, and coaches from the recipient teams.

“This award is a tremendous honor, not just for our student-athletes and coaches, but for the entire Penn Manor community,” said Tocci. “It underscores that our athletes achieve success not only through their competitive spirit but also through their unwavering commitment to positive conduct, acknowledged by their peers, officials, and administrators. They truly embody what it means to represent Penn Manor with pride.”

Congratulations to the student-athletes and their coaches for all their hard work!
