Lisa Suydam named principal of LeTort Elementary School

Lisa Suydam, assistant principal at Central Manor Elementary School for the past five years, has been named principal of LeTort Elementary, effective July 1.

The Penn Manor school board approved her appointment on June 23.

Lisa will replace Brian Malek, who is leaving the principal position to teach third grade at Conestoga Elementary.

She has been assistant principal at Central Manor since 2020. She previously served as acting dean of students at Manor Middle School and was a classroom teacher and media specialist at LeTort from 2013 to 2019.

Lisa also taught at Conestoga Elementary School from 2000 to 2006.

She received her K-12 principal certificate and K-12 supervisor of curriculum and instruction certificate from Millersville University in 2019 and earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1997.

“I am absolutely thrilled to step into my new role as the principal of LeTort Elementary,” she said. “I can’t wait to collaborate with our dedicated teachers, staff, students, and families to build upon the continued success and growth of the LeTort community. Together, I know we’ll accomplish even greater achievements in the years to come.”

Lisa lives in Conestoga with her husband, George, and their children Peyton, Ciana and Greyson, who attends Penn Manor High School.

Superintendent Dr. Phil Gale praised Lisa for her commitment to Penn Manor community and her growth as a leader.

“I am very excited for Lisa to take this next step in her professional career. During her time as a classroom teacher, she demonstrated her care and desire for students to learn and grow. As an assistant principal, Lisa has proven her ability to lead students and teachers. I believe Lisa will bring back her warm personality and drive to LeTort.”

Congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. Suydam on this new position!
