Three Penn Manor students recently earned two first-place finishes in a robotics design challenge at Millersville University.
The team of Ben Thomas, Mushna Subba, and Wyatt Clare took first place in both the air/drone and the combined air and land competitions of the Sea, Air & Land Challenge, held April 22.
SEAL is a Department of Defense-sponsored program in which teams of high school students design and build drones, rovers, submersibles and other robotic systems at a cost of $600 or less. They then compete in challenges that mimic missions encountered by the military, national security agencies and first responders.
Teams are judged based on how well their vehicles maneuver through the course and complete the designated task.
This is the second year in a row that a Penn Manor team has placed in the top two in the SEAL competition.
Congratulations to these students and their advisor, Jonathan Zimmerman, Penn Manor High School gifted support advisor.
