Five Penn Manor High School graduates were inducted into the Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor on Friday, May 1.
The 2026 Distinguished Alumni are Franklin Myers, Class of 1953; Pat Kline, Class of 1982; Andrew Dumm, Class of 2001; Luke Schoenfelder, Class of 2007; and Donovan Hoffer, Class of 2009.
Here are the accomplishments of the Distinguished Alumni:
Franklin Myers (’53) Former class treasurer, he is a fifth-generation farmer with a deep-seated passion for land. Frank has spent over seven decades cultivating the soil of Pequea Township and the minds of the next generation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Agronomy from Penn State University (’57) and later a master’s degree in Agronomy from the University of Florida.
His early adoption of terracing techniques significantly reduced runoff into the Chesapeake Bay, marking him a leader in sustainable agriculture long before it become a modern standard. For over fifty years, he has been a dedicated member of the Willow Street Lions Club, earning the “Lion of the Year” award for his service. His commitment to his neighbors is further reflected in his years on the Pequea Township Planning Commission and his lifelong leadership within the Willow Street UCC.
Whether managing a beef operation or transitioning to his well-loved Myers’ Farm Produce stand, he has always viewed his work as an opportunity to mentor others, teaching his eight grandchildren and local youth the values of responsibility and hard work.
Frank recently helped facilitate a meaningful donation to the Penn Manor Education Foundation, ensuring the next generation of students has the same opportunities to excel that he and his family enjoyed.
Pat Kline (’82) With three brothers proceeding him as a Penn Manor graduates and a sister that dedicated 20 years to being an educator within the district, Pat’s ties remain close to Penn Manor. Pat and his wife Laura (’84), also a Penn Manor graduate, eventually watched their two children, Erik (’10) and Cassie (’15) walk across the Penn Manor graduation stage.
He credits his foundation of service to his late mother, Helen Sahd Kline, as she taught him the value of selflessly giving back, and his late father, William, for modeling the virtues of integrity and honesty. Pat used those values to guide him from the classrooms at Penn Manor to Penn State University and eventually throughout his professional career. He started working on Wall Street with IBM and for the last 32 years was a State Farm agent in Southern Lancaster County.
Throughout his journey, Pat never forgot the educators who went “above and beyond.” He fondly recalls corny jokes and morning song of Ken Hussar, a teacher-mentor who inspired him to love learning. Pat also credits Barry Kauffman’s rigorous math instruction for putting him ahead of the curve at Penn State, while admiring Kauffman’s selflessness and commitment to co-curricular activities he was involved in.
He has spent his adult life mirroring the same spirit of service. Whether coaching youth sports for PMYBSA, serving as a Penn Manor School Board Director, or spending over 20 years with the Penn Manor Education Foundation (PMEF), Pat has worked tirelessly to ensure the next generation has the same opportunities he did.
Andrew Dumm (’01) While in high school, Andrew was a member of the football and swimming teams, and was involved in Model United Nations, Technology Student Association, and the National Honor Society. He was involved in Boy Scouts and earned the Eagle Scout ranking. He graduated as the valedictorian of his class.
Andrew attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Seeking to expand on interests he discovered at Penn Manor, he majored in Systems Engineering with a minor in Computer and Robotics Engineering. After graduating with Honors in 2005, he was selected to become a Navy pilot and began flight training.
While in the Navy, CDR Andrew “Tweedle” Dumm flew the venerable C-2A Greyhound, delivering critical logistics and personnel to aircraft carriers deployed around the world. Completing multiple combat deployments in the Western Pacific and Middle East Theaters, he was also stationed in Japan for two and a half years. The Navy selected him to command the only remaining Fleet Logistics Support Squadron, VRC-40, in Norfolk, VA, where he retired from active-duty military service in 2025 after accumulating over 3,000 hours of flight time and hundreds of carrier-arrested landings.
Dumm was hired by United Airlines and flies the 737 out of Newark, New Jersey. Andrew resides in Swedesboro, New Jersey with his wife Jessica (Friedman, Class of 2003), and their three children, Gianna, Maxim, and Stella.
Luke Schoenfelder (’07) He is an entrepreneur, inventor, and designer whose work spans artificial intelligence, national security, consumer hardware, furniture, and philanthropy.
Luke began his college studies at Millersville University before transferring to Georgetown University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. While at Georgetown, he built a prototype low-cost sustainable home from earthbags in the woods behind his family’s farm that he deployed to Haiti after the earthquake in 2010, an early signal of the hand-on, problem-solving approach that would define his career. While in college, he worked at Apple, an experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to thoughtful design and great products.
Schoenfelder co-founded Latch, a building-access and smart-home technology company in 2013. His products are used over three times a second and he holds foundational security patents cited by Apple, Google, and Amazon.
Luke also co-founded a new company working at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and national security, helping NATO allies with some of their most critical challenges. He has built his career across New York, Hong Kong, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and London.
Beyond his companies, Luke designs furniture, invests in early-stage founders, and supports philanthropic work focused on education and technology, causes shaped by his own experience of losing his father at 14 and being carried, in no small part, by the teachers and community of his hometown.
Luke and his wife, Rachel, spend time primarily between Miami and Europe managing their businesses.
Donovan Hoffer (’09) While at Penn Manor, Donovan was heavily involved in Manor Singers, the International Thespian Society, chorus, and the school plays and musicals. His favorite role was senior year when he played Lumiere in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Outside of school he received vocal, dance, and theatre training while performing in local cabarets, recitals, and theatre productions.
Following high school graduation, Donovan studied at the American Musical and Dramatics Academy in New York City for a semester. He performed at the Fulton Theatre, the Ephrata Performing arts Center, Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, and sister theatre, the Broadway Palm, located in Florida.
He returned to Penn Manor to choreograph three musicals alongside Melissa Telesco, Melissa Mintzer, and Carole Shellenberger: The Music Man, Grease, and The Little Mermaid.
Donovan joined the Actor’s Equity Association in 2012. In 2014, Donovan performed in Playlist Productions on board the Carnival Conquest for six months while cruising the Caribbean. In 2018, Donovan sang in the 40-person choir of Broadway’s Rocktopia, with headliners Pat Monahan of Train and Dee Snider of Twisted Sister.
In 2020, Donovan moved to Chicago for five years where he performed roles such as Stacee Jaxx in Rock of Ages, Buddy Keno in the Full Monty, and The Rum Tum Tugger in Cats. In 2021, a major highlight for Donovan was auditioning for NBC’s America’s Got Talent, where he sang “Think of Me” from the Phantom of the Opera on national television and scored a ‘yes’ from all of the celebrity judges. Throughout the years, Donovan has enjoyed performing in Prima Theatre’s Queen + Journey concerts. During this time, Donovan built a TikTok following of 157.5k @emerald__elixir.
Donovan currently resides in Miami, Florida where he is rehearsing for the Celebrity Cruise Line’s newest ship, Xcel, where he will be performing in immersive concert shows on board while touring Europe and the Caribbean for seven months. He takes pride in the extracurricular activities and programs he experienced in high school that gave him the tools to succeed in his chosen career.
Congratulations to the five Distinguished Alumni for being inducted into the Wall of Honor!
