Secondary school students earned several awards at the TSA Competition.

PM students bring home multiple TSA awards

Penn Manor students from the secondary schools are celebrating their accomplishments from the Technology Student Association Regional 2 Conference, held at Conestoga Valley High School on Saturday, January 24.

All of the students qualified to compete at the Pennsylvania TSA Conference in April.

The mission of TSA is to enhance personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in STEM. Students competed and participated in over 35 events.

“Our Penn Manor TSA students did a fantastic job representing our district, and demonstrating their knowledge, determination, and critical thinking skills,” said Mrs. Chronister, Applied Engineering & Technology Education teacher and Manor Middle School TSA club advisor. “Many of our students have been working on their events since the beginning of the school year.”

Penn Manor High School

Gage Myers earned third place and Ayden Fawcett placed fifth in Extemporaneous Speech. In Technology Problem Solving, Gage Myers and Jett Kroesen came in fourth place. The Board Game Design team of Ayden Fawcett, Jett Kroesen, and Gage Myers, placed eighth.

Manor Middle School

Matthew Detter and Caleb Markley were awarded first place in Mechanical Engineering. Also taking first place were Celia Domanico in Website Design and Graceland Weaver in Digital Photography.

Four Manor Middle teams earned the following second place awards:

Coding – Matthew Detter and Caleb Markley; Construction Challenge – Versailes Lucas; Forensic Tech – Graceland Weaver and Natalia Dygul; Microcontroller Design – Isaiah Ginder and Connor Van Aulen.

Chloe Chen and Elisabeth Newton placed third in Inventions and Innovations. Additionally, Eli Charles and Marshall Pfannenstiel earned third place in Mechanical Engineering.

Earning fourth place was Matthew Detter in Structural Engineering and Celia Domanico in Prepared Speech.

Jeremiah Kirkley earned sixth place in the Dragster Competition. Jeren Birch, Isaiah Ginder, and Jackson Moncak placed sixth in the Tech Bowl Team Competition.

In the Tech Bowl Individual Competition, Jackson Moncak placed ninth and Xavier Okabayashi placed 11th.

Marticville Middle School

Earning first place was Liam Walton, Gavin Lance, and Will Ryan in the Tech Bowl Team Competition and Enrique Batista in the Tech Bowl Individual Competition.

Three Marticville Middle teams earned the following second place awards:

Tech Bowl Individual Competition – Gavin Lance; Children’s Stories – Gavin Lance and Will Ryan; and Prepared Speech – Enrique Batista.

Chase Barnhart, Garrett Rettew, and Declan Fry earned third place in the Tech Bowl Team Competition. Liam Walton won third place in the Tech Bowl Individual Competition.

Gavin Lance and Will Ryan earned sixth place in Problem Solving, Chase Barnhart earned seventh place in the Tech Bowl Individual Competition, and Pike Telesco earned eighth place in the Dragster Competition.

In the Tech Bowl Individual Competition, Declan Fry took 10th place and Garrett Rettew took 12th place.
