Penn Manor is excited to announce the return of National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, January 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Penn Manor High School Auxiliary Gym.
Penn Manor students from kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to attend the free event. The attendees can meet Penn Manor teams, connect with coaches, and celebrate the incredible girls’ sports programs in our community.
Participants can try out stations for soccer, field hockey, tennis, volleyball, cross country, golf, bowling, swimming, wrestling, basketball, lacrosse, track and field, softball, cheerleading, and Unified Track/Bocce.
National Girls and Women in Sports Day is hosted by the athletic department. The activities for the day are organized by head field hockey coach, Rachel Suter.
“Sports have had such a huge impact on my life, and my hope is that by exposing girls to all the programs our district offers, they will find something they love,” explained Suter. “Our teams feel the support of our community, and it is so powerful in propelling us throughout our seasons. Events like this help to bring us all together.”
Any participant that brings their completed “sports passport” to the girls’ basketball game that afternoon, will receive free admission for themselves and their family.
