Congratulations to Penn Manor High School oboe player Allison Ulaky, who recently achieved the highest position possible for a student musician in the state of Pennsylvania.
The Penn Manor senior placed first oboe in the highest level ensemble, the Wind Ensemble, at the All-State Music Festival over the weekend. According to Penn Manor music teacher Sara Masten, being named first chair of the highest ensemble is essentially like being a “state champion” in sports.
Allison earned the honor based on several auditions.
She was one of four Penn Manor musicians who performed in the All-State Festival. The others were William Torres, Julianne Leddy and Luke Richardson.
