23 Penn Manor students earn TSA awards

Twenty-three Penn Manor high school and middle school students won multiple awards at the Lancaster-Lebanon Technology Student Association regional competition  Feb. 7 at Conestoga Valley Middle School.

Vying against more than 400 students from other schools in the area, TSA students from Manor and Marticville middle schools and Penn Manor High School competed in a variety of events, ranging from problem-solving activities to public speaking and presentations.

The 23 students were named finalists and will represent Penn Manor in the state-level TSA competition, scheduled for April 15-18 at Seven Springs Resort in Champion, PA. Here are the winners:

Penn Manor High School
  • System Control Technology: Bryce Eberly, Josiah Hine and Max Minnick, 6th place
  • Technology Bowl: Trey Erisman, Ethan Getz and Thomas Hartenstine, 8th place
  • Technology Bowl, Written, Individual: Thomas Hartenstine, 7th place
  • Technology Problem Solving: Colin Cunningham and Drew Ebersole, 4th place
  • Bio Medical Essay Contest: Mason Garcia, 6th place
  • Material Process: Kyle Groff, 4th place
  • Safety Illustration: Joshua Adams, 5th place
  • Extemporaneous Speech: Josh Hiltz, 10th place
  • Promotional Graphics: Nick Hagelgans, 9th place
  • Structural Design and Engineering: Drew Ebersole and David Lefever, qualified
Manor Middle School
  • Tech Bowl, Individual: Matt Schaefer, 2nd
  • Go Green Competition: Ray Gerner, Matt Schaefer and Jared Stephan, 2nd
  • Structural Model Competition: Josh Brant and Ray Gerner, 2nd
  • Dragster Competition: Bryce Julian, qualified.
  • Flight Competition: Seve Flores, qualified.
  • Tech Bowl, Team: Josh Brant, Jared Stephan, and Neel Mahapatra, qualified.
  • Problem Solving: Matt Schaefer and Ray Gerner, qualified.
Marticville Middle School
  • Dragster Challenge: Dylan Smith, 8th place.
