Keller gets All-America jersey

It’s official: Matt Keller has accepted the jersey he’ll wear when he represents Penn Manor in the Under Armour All-America football game in January.

The senior long-snapper for the Comets received his jersey Tuesday, when the Under Armour All-America Jersey Tour made a stop at the Penn Manor High School library.

Joining Matt during the presentation were his family members, teammates and coaches. Comets head coach Todd Mealy said Matt is the kind of player you want on a team – talented academically as well as physically, with a supportive family.

Matt is the top-ranked high school long-snapper in the country, according to Kohl’s Kicking Camps.  He was named a Kohl’s First-Team All-American following the Comets’ 2013 season and was the No. 1 finisher in Kohl’s 2014 Underclassman Challenge in January.

Matt previously won Kohl’s Eastern Showcase in Pittsburgh in 2013.

His status as one of the top centers and long-snappers in the country earned Matt a spot on the All-America team alongside other outstanding players from across the United States.

The game will be played at 4 p.m. January 2, 2015, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. It will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Congratulations, Matt, and best wishes on the rest of your season!
