Hambright Groundbreaking Kicks Off Construction of New Building

The official groundbreaking for the new Hambright Elementary School along Charlestown Road was held on Thursday, May 2. All students and staff from the current Hambright Elementary were bussed to the site to witness the groundbreaking of Penn Manor School District’s first new elementary school in over fifty years. Pictured left to right – Hambright Elementary principal, Dr. Jerry Egan; Penn Manor School District superintendent, Dr. Mike Leichliter; Penn Manor School Board president, Mr. J. Kenneth Long; current Hambright students, Conner Schlegel (4th grade) and  Solymar Soders (6th grade) helped to kick off construction of the new school. Residents will see work begin on the site in the next week or two.
