Penn Manor Alum Named Finalist in International Music Competition

Henry Stewart, Class of 2010, has been named a finalist for his composition, “Threnody/Images” in the Villiers String Quartet’s VQ New Works Competition held annually in London, England.

For the second stage of the judging process, the quartet has recorded one movement from the works of each of the six finalists and placed them on their website at for a public online vote. Anyone can take part in the voting by visiting the above link. Voting will continue until April 5.

The top three finalists will have their compositions performed live on April 29 at St. Andrew’s Church in London. The winner will be decided at the concert by audience vote and will receive a cash prize of 500 pounds, a studio recording of his piece, and the performance of his work by the Villiers Quartet in upcoming seasons.
