The Penn Manor School District implements a multi-layer security model to help protect our students, staff and community from Internet and computer-based threats. While no system is 100% secure, the district strives to maintain an infrastrucrure that is both safe and responsive to the needs of our stakeholders.

 

Email File Attachements
To prevent the spread of common Windows viruses, the district blocks file attachments that may potentially contain malicious code. Attached documents that do not contain a valid three digit extention or contain a blank extension will be blocked.

 

 

Permitted file extensions include:

 

.doc Microsoft Word .rtf Rich Text
.xls Microsoft Excel .html or .htm HTML File
.ppt and .pps Microsoft PowerPoint .ps or .eps Post Script or Encapsulated Post Script
.pdf Adobe Acrobat .gif Image File Format
.csv Comma Seperated Values .jpg Image File Format
.txt Text File .bmp Image File Format
.wpd Word Perfect .png Image File Format
.fmp3 and .fmp5 File Maker Pro .tiff Image File Format


Email Usage and Spam
The Penn Manor email system is designed to support the educational and operational programs of the district and as a communications tool for parents, teachers and other community stakeholders. Vendors are not permitted to utilize Penn Manor email addresses for UCE, UBM, or "SPAM".

 

Acceptable Use Policy
Please note that all individuals who utilize Penn Manor Technology must have a signed Acceptable Use Policy on record with the district. This includes all volunteers, aides, and community members.
