Martic art class is a fun learning experience. I try to incorporate knowledge
of famous artists and their works in many of our art projects and class
discussions. Many times academic subjects are reinforced in our creations.
For example, in first grade we form our own Japanese style rice bowls and
tea cups our of clay and use them for a celebration at the end of a social
studies unit. In sixth grade we create weather vanes and tornadoes to
reinforce the science/weather unit.
