In second grade, we cover two anthologies. The first is Silly Things Happen which contains three themes The themes are Friendship, Humor, and Nonfiction stories. The second is Come One, Come All. This anthology contains four themes. The themes are Growing Up, Stories by Tomie DePaola, Aesop's Fables, and In and Out of Trouble. Through these themes we are learning reading strategies, story mapping, and summarizing stories.
In second grade we learn addition and subtraction facts through 20, problem solving, and addition and subtraction of two and three digit numbers. Time, money, measurement, fractions, geometry and multiplication and division readiness.
