Eshleman Library

Eshleman Elementary is located in Millersville, Pennsylvania. Our library serves approximately 330 students. Our collection consists of over 8,000 books, periodicals, CD-ROM's and videotapes.

Students have the opportunity to browse for books, magazines, and tapes every six days during a Book Exchange time with our library aide, Mrs.Calender. In addition, every fourth, fifth, and sixth grade student has Library Instruction with the Librarian, Mrs. Cirincione. We explore the organization of the library, the reference section and how each reference book can be used, indexes and their purpose, how to select and narrow down a topic, how to take notes, create bibliographies and use search strategies. We also become acquainted with more authors and their literature.

We are proud to announce that Penn Manor's elementary libraries have joined the middle schools and the high school in belonging to the Access PA POWER project. The POWER Library, an initiative of Govenor Tom Ridge's administration with the support of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, is offered as a service of Pennsylvania's public libraries, school libraries and the State Library. The POWER Library allows you to access thousands of full text periodicals articles, newspapers, a major encyclopedia, plus photographs, pictures, charts, maps, reference materials for young people and more. You'll find materials of interest in most subject areas for all age groups from young children to adults. It is available for use here at school or at many public libraries in the near future.
