PTO COMMITTEES
Conestoga's PTO provides many programs and events to enhance our children's school experience. Volunteers are the heart of these programs. We invite you to participate in any activities that interest you. You can help for any amount of time you can give. You can even participate from home!

BAGS: Buy All Groceries for Students. An ongoing fund raiser. Use the handy envelope to order. They distribute the gift certificates to the students usually the day the envelope is received. Profits (5% of each dollar sold) go to the PTO general fund. You can help by buying them or by helping to sell them. |

Book Covers: This group strives to make writing fun by creating special covers for children to use in publishing their writing efforts. You use cardboard and contact paper or wallpaper to make the covers. This activity is easily done at home. We send the supplies home with your child. You send the book covers back when done. Hospitality: These volunteers arrange for food and supplies, then they serve and cleanup for events such as Meet the Teacher Night in September, Ice Cream Social in January, and the Spaghetti Supper in April. This group also coordinates meals for school families in need. |

Playground: Works to create an safe and stimulating playground environment. They provide extra supervision on the playground at lunch recess when volunteers are available. They also coordinate playground equipment purchases by PTO. We provide a variety of balls for each classroom to use during outside recess. We also purchased knock hockey boards and sticks for the students to use during inside recess. |

Scholarship fund: We award a $300 scholarship to the Penn Manor graduating senior who meets certain criteria, which includes attendance for several years at CES. The committee promotes the award, receives and reviews applications, and selects the winner. The Conestoga PTO presents the award at the PMHS Awards Ceremony. |

Student Activities: This committee plans, coordinates, and promotes fun events for the school community. Some examples are: Roller skating, School picnic, January Talent Show, Movie night and more! You can join as a member and help organize the events or volunteer to help the day of the event(s) of your choice. |

Student Rewards: This committee rewards students who participate in academic extracurricular activities at the school. Books are awarded to students participating in the Spelling Bee, Math Bowl, and Science Fair. A bookplate recognizes the student's extra effort. |

Ways and Means: Selects, organizes and runs fund raisers throughout the year. Volunteers help with inventory, bagging, and distribution. We have several fund raisers each year. Your help is welcome with one or all events. |

Yearbook: Interested people are needed to take pictures (camera and film supplied) at various school and PTO events. In the early spring, help compile photos and organize taking yearbook orders. Yearbooks are sent home usually the last week of school.

Fall & Spring Book Fairs: Fall Book Fair: This event is held in November during the hours of parent/ teacher conferences. We need set up volunteers as well as folks to staff the sales table. It is a great opportunity to buy books at a discount for Holiday gift giving. Spring Book Fair is coordinated with the Spaghetti Supper and Theme Night. |

Santa's Workshop: In December, we provide an opportunity for students to shop for small, inexpensive gifts for the Holidays. Volunteers are needed for inventory set up the Friday before, to staff the tables, replenish table stock, help clean up, and cashiers. We also have a free gift wrapping table and you might choose to help there. You are welcome to help for all or part of the event. A good time is had by all! Santa is also there taking wishes. |

Bike Rodeo: Parents work with AAA representatives to reinforce safe bike riding skills. You would help set up and evaluate the kids at an event. Takes about three hours. You'll get lots of fresh air! |

Olympic Day: This is coordinated by our physical education teachers near the end of the school year. It offers a half day of physical fun. We provide helpers for each activity and the water station. The Physical education teachers ask for volunteers nearer the event time. Learn more about the events. |
