Central Manor Parent Resource Center

What is the Parent Resource Center?
The Parent Resource Center contains a variety of resource materials purchased through the Penn Manor Education Foundation grant and other funds. The purpose of this resource center is to make up-to-date parenting information available to interested persons in the Penn Manor School District.

Why is the Penn Manor School District making these materials available?

The school district is interested in the well-being of its students and their families. Books and materials of this nature can be expensive and difficult to find. By making a wide variety of materials available, more families can have access to this information.

Who may borrow materials from the Parent Resource Center?

Any Penn Manor resident may have access to these materials. They are especially intended for parents, teachers, and others who care for children.

Where are these materials located?

Materials are located in the Counselor’s Office at Central Manor Elementary.

When are these materials available?
Interested patrons may check materials out any time the elementary counselor is available.

How do I check out materials? How long may I keep them?

Materials are generally checked out for up to two weeks at a time. They may be obtained in a variety of ways. A student could bring a note from home requesting a specific book. A patron could call, or visit the school to select materials of interest. Those who borrow materials are asked to sign a checkout slip indicating their name, phone number, and the name of their child (if applicable).

What if I am interested in a topic which is not in the resource center?
New materials are acquired as money becomes available. When a specific need is known, effort will be made to locate information on the topic. If the school does not have information available on that topic, they may be able to refer the parent to an appropriate source, or to a website addressing the subject.
